DIỄN ĐÀN CHUYỆN CŨ KỂ MỚI: TỪ CHẤT LIỆU DI SẢN ĐẾN SẢN PHẨM VĂN HÓA
The forum “Old Stories, New Voices: From Heritage Materials to Cultural Products” was successfully held at COMPLEX 01. Organized by the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Heritage (CCH), with support from the British Council in Vietnam and in collaboration with Hanoi Grapevine and TUVA Communication, the event created a unique space for connection among cultural institutions, heritage-practicing communities, and the young creative generation.

The program was divided into two main activities: a panel discussion at the Common Room and 13 exhibition booths at COMPLEX Garden. The event brought together leading experts, including Dr. Lê Thị Minh Lý, Vice President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association; Ms. Bùi Thị Hương Thủy, Deputy Head of the Heritage Management Department of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports; Dr. Lê Xuân Kiêu, Director of Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities; and Ms. Trần Tuyết Lan, Director of Craft Link Social Enterprise Co., Ltd.

The panel discussion sparked in-depth conversations about leveraging heritage as a source of creative inspiration, the demand and trends in developing souvenir products, the role of traditional craftsmanship in the cultural industry, and new connections among communities, heritage, and designers. Notably, product showcases by Bối Ân, Nhịp Phố, and artisan Đặng Văn Hậu (Tò he) provided vivid examples of breathing new life into heritage through creative use of traditional materials.

The exhibition area, featuring 13 booths, created a distinctive space where artists, designers, and creative enterprises showcased handcrafted products rich with cultural essence. Each booth was like a slice of memory infused with new vitality, familiar yet unique, reflecting how heritage is “retold” through the distinct language of each creator.
The event not only succeeded in fostering connections among stakeholders but also introduced the creative competition “Following the Footsteps of Community Heritage,” initiated by TUVA Communication – a call for young people to embark on a journey of exploring and creating with heritage.
