HẠ HỒI TALKSHOW – THE NEXT CHAPTER

“Hạ Hồi Talkshow – The Next Chapter” officially took place at COMPLEX 01 on July 13th, marking an important milestone in the journey of connecting traditional Tuồng art with contemporary creative language. The event was not only the launch of the “Hạ Hồi” brand but also an open dialogue space between generations, where Tuồng art was viewed through today’s lens.

The talkshow created an interactive community art space with the presence of veteran Tuồng artists, heritage researchers, and young creatives. Audiences experienced live demonstrations combined with presentations by artists and experts, helping them discover the cultural depth, performance techniques, and unique artistic values of Tuồng in an authentic and vivid way.

Notably, the event also included the screening of the first excerpt from the documentary film project “Hạ Hồi – Mộng Ký Mẫn Tuồng”. The exclusively revealed scene surprised viewers with intense, authentic moments – not only the rigor of Tuồng training, but also the familiar generational gap in every Vietnamese family. When the artist is both teacher and co-performer, as well as father and mother, the film opens up a special emotional dimension about Tuồng families in modern times.

With the theme “When tradition meets a new chapter”, the program successfully conveyed the message that culture and history do not sleep in the past and do not belong only to previous generations. Tuồng art is alive, continuing to spread through every small action, every meaningful choice that young people make today. Through media, Tuồng is not only preserved but also promoted, given new living material, harmonizing with modern life.

The COMPLEX 01 space created an ideal environment for this emotional gathering, where Tuồng appeared not on stage, not in museums, and certainly not as a framed heritage, but in life, in memory, in the stories of those who preserve it.
