16/05/2025

On the evening of May 16, Hanoi Swing Day 2025: Harlem Fever vividly recreated the legendary atmosphere of 1930s Harlem, New York, where Swing Jazz and Lindy Hop once sparked a cultural phenomenon. Organized by Hanoi Swing Dance in collaboration with COMPLEX 01 and Polygon Musik, this special event, coinciding with Hanoi Swing Dance’s birthday (May 17) and World Lindy Hop Day (May 26), delivered an exhilarating experience of music and dance brimming with inspiration and energy.

The stage came alive with the captivating voice of Tú Phạm and the Breezin’ Brothers, who performed a meticulously curated setlist of authentic 1930s Swing Jazz. Having rehearsed with Hanoi Swing Dance for months, their performance was nothing short of explosive, enchanting both the audience and dance enthusiasts. As one band member remarked, the night’s energy was “even wilder than playing rock,” keeping everyone swaying to the rhythm.

The Open Performance segment shone brightly, as dance lovers from all backgrounds immersed themselves in Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz routines inspired by vintage videos. No professional training was needed – each participant confidently showcased their passion, creating a vibrant atmosphere of connection and joy. With a 1,000,000 VND prize for the winning pair, the competition added an extra layer of excitement to the evening.

Hanoi Swing Day 2025: Harlem Fever not only celebrated the timeless allure of Swing Jazz and Lindy Hop but also solidified COMPLEX 01’s status as an ideal destination for dynamic cultural experiences in the capital.
