OPEN STUDIO – RICCARDO MATLAKAS
In the creative space of the Open Studio, artist Riccardo Matlakas brought a unique artistic experience, deeply connecting Vietnamese culture and contemporary international art. The event was implemented by the Vietnam Artist Residency Network (AiRViNe) and supported by COMPLEX 01.
After more than a month of exploration and creation in Vietnam, Riccardo Matlakas performed the “Orizzonti” (Horizons) – a sculptural work inspired by Vietnamese cultural symbols like Quang Ganh and Non La. The performance was filmed at the traditional Thanh Ha market – a space deeply marked by cultural heritage.
With his versatility across multiple art forms, from performance to sculpture, Riccardo Matlakas demonstrated his ability to connect cultures through art. He is not merely an international artist, but also a profound researcher of human nature that transcends racial and cultural boundaries.
This Open Studio became a unique cultural exchange space, where art becomes a bridge between people and different experiences. The event was not just a simple art performance, but a profound dialogue about cultural diversity and connection.
