FROM ART INITIATIVES TO THE JOURNEY OF DEVELOPING A SUSTAINABLE ART ECOSYSTEM
On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the talk “The talk “Another Perspective on Art Fairs and Artist Residencies: The Case of BEPPU PROJECT”” took place. The event was attended by four guest speakers and an audience interested in the diversity and development potential of art fairs, residency programs, and arts and cultural organizations.
The talk introduced BEPPU Project as a leading example of how art can be integrated with local communities and regional development through artist residencies, public art initiatives, and art fairs.
Alongside insights from BEPPU Project representatives and artist Xuan-Ha on engaging with the local community in Beppu, the session also presented Beppu Art Fair 2027—an art fair model that fosters long-term collaboration among artists, curators, collectors, and local communities while expanding opportunities for artistic exchange and sustainable networks across Asia.
