Talk: Sustaining a Dream — How to Maintain an Arthouse Cinema

As part of the program ‘Dreams & Delusions: Visions of Kiyoshi Kurosawa”, the talk ‘Sustaining a Dream — How to Maintain an Arthouse Cinema’ was successfully held at White Light Cinéhub on June 07.

Featuring Yuki Kabasawa, film curator and co-director of Eurospace in Tokyo, and moderated by Nguyen Le, journalist, film critic, subtitler, and film consultant, the talk opened a space for discussion on the challenges and opportunities of operating independent cinema spaces across Asia today

Drawing on Eurospace’s experience in Tokyo, the discussion expanded to Hanoi and cinema spaces like White Light Cinéhub – revisiting memories of the city’s old screening rooms, reflecting on why independent cinema spaces are still worth preserving, and discussing how to develop and affirm their cultural value in the present and future.
