Talk: Mini cinema space – Mission possible?

Last weekend, “Silence and (dis) connection” introduced a special talk featuring Michinari Ueno – manager of Takada Sekaikan cinema, under the moderation of director Nguyễn Lê Hoàng Việt. 🎟️

At the event, our audience got the chance to learn about the ecosystem of independent cinemas in Japan, through Michinari Ueno’s sharings on Takada Sekaikan cinema – one of the oldest operating cinemas, or the “living museum” of Japanese film history. Director Nguyễn Lê Hoàng Việt then revisited memories of old cinemas and the independent screening models of Hanoi, leading to the conversation of the Vietnamese film context.

🌳 “Silence and (dis) connection” organized by White Light Cinéhub with the sponsorship of the Japan Foundation and the media support of COMPLEX 01 and Hanoi Grapevine, introduces 05 selected films with theme of family in Japanese society from the 1950s to the present. The program includes film screenings and conversations, taking place from April 3 to May 3, 2026 at White Light Cinéhub (29/31/167 Tây Sơn, Hanoi).
